An exhibition with new works by Katja Kollowa & Andrea Van Reimersdahl.

Artist Statement:

“The idea of a co-exhibition raises the question of the perfection or non-perfection of (image) surfaces in our digital age in relation to painting. The stain as a symbol for pollution, dirt, failures and accidents is explored in materials and character of the various works made of mud, concrete and textiles. It is seen as a chance for the origin of something new and unpredictable. The various works (installation and (wall) sculpture) are each reminiscent of monochrome painting in their own way.”

Die Idee einer gemeinsamen Ausstellung stellt die Frage nach der Perfektion bzw. Nicht-Perfektion von (Bild-)Oberflächen in unserem digitalen Zeitalter in Bezug zur Malerei. Der Fleck als Symbol für Verschmutzung, Dreck, Fehlschläge, oder Unglücke wird in Materialität und Charakter der verschiedenen Arbeiten aus Erde, Beton und Gewebe thematisiert und als Chance für das Entstehen für Neues, Unvorhersehbares begriffen. Die unterschiedlichen Arbeiten, (Installation und (Wand-)Skulptur) erinnern auf jeweils ihre Weise an monochrome Malerei.
